Rev. Paul Bizer

Rev. Paul Bizer

Following graduation from Purdue University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Paul perceived the call to ordination ministry and after graduation from Eden Seminary, he was ordained in 1987 by the Northeast Association of the Indiana-Kentucky Conference of the UCC.  Rev. Bizer considers himself a "product of the church," having been raised in a parsonage while his father, Armin C., served congregations in the Midwest.

Bizer served three congregations in the Florida conference prior to moving to Peace Dale, Rhode Island where he served as Senior Pastor for 15 years.  While at Peace Dale, Paul led the congregation to in renewal by initially creating new Statements of Vision and Mission.  Putting the Vision and Mission into action, the congregation successfully completed a $3 million capital campaign facility renovation and addition allowing them to better serve their local mission field.  Outreach into the community happened with a regular nutritious weekly meal offered every Wednesday.  Following the dinner ministry, the church became the winter overflow for the local homeless shelter housing guests each night from November through March.  An indigenous/contemporary weekly worship experience was added that continues over a decade later to help the community experience alternative ways to faithfully worship.

At the end of 2017, his spouse Myrna was offered the position of Assistant Vice President for Development at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.  They now reside in Maitland, FL.  Paul enjoys reading (especially crime fiction), movies, music, and watching "The Beautiful Game" of Futbol (Soccer.)  He's excited to join the CB&LF team, and share his passion for helping congregations achieve their vision and mission through gifts grounded in faithful generosity.
