Rev. Susan Mitchell

The Rev. Susan Mitchell serves as CB&LF’s associate director of strategic initiatives, following seven successful years as capital fundraising executive.

Susan is an ordained minister in the Southeast Conference of the United Church of Christ. She has spent more than 15 years in parish ministry, including serving as founding co-pastor of Sankofa UCC in Atlanta, Georgia, and remains active as an associate minister at Rush Memorial UCC in Atlanta.

She has preached and provided instruction in ecumenical settings across the country and has participated in educational and mission trips to Egypt, Israel, Syria, Greece, Jordan, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Brazil, Thailand, Japan and the Philippines.

Susan also serves as co-chair of the board of Kilombo Cultural and Academic Institute. She is a member of the greater Atlanta chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has completed coursework for the executive certificate for religious fundraising.

She received her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Kansas and her Master of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center, where she was inducted into the Theta Phi International Honor Society for religious studies.
